Students at St George’s College, Weybridge ecstatic as they produce record GCSE A* results

St George’s College students are celebrating this morning with yet another excellent set of results in their GCSE exams with record A* results produced.
St George’s College improved its percentage of A* grades from last year’s 40% to this year’s 43%. The College has maintained its 100% 5 A*-C grades, whilst 42 students gained all A* - A grades, including six students who achieved straight A*s.
Notable achievements are John Grieve who attained 13 A*s plus an A grade in AS Spanish. Vasileios Karavias and Alexander King both achieved 11 A*s. Ashleigh Mason, Niamh McMahon and Alexander Vassallo attained 10 A*s, and Thi-An Nguyen achieved 10 A*s and 1 A.
Speaking soon after they opened their results envelopes, Alexander, Vasileios and Ashleigh said:
“I am really happy that all of my hard work paid off and I hope all of my friends did well.” – Alexander King.
“I’m happy with my results and I’m looking forward to starting my Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Physics AS levels.” – Vasileios Karavias.
“I couldn’t have done this without my wonderful teachers; I’m very happy with my results.” Ashleigh Mason.
All the Year 10 students took Religious Studies GCSE a year early, with 58% gaining A*-A grades. The whole cohort also took IGCSE English Language a year early with 61% gaining A* - A grades. Twenty of the Year 10 cohort also took French a year early with everyone achieving A*/A grades and 85% gaining A*’s. Two of our Year 10 students took Spanish GCSE, both gaining A*s.
Three of the College' Year 9 students took Spanish GCSE – Jonathan Beaumont, Alexander Grieve and Samuel Quincey – and all gained an A*.
In addition, fifteen students took the DELF B1 certificate in French and they all passed.
Speaking today, Joe Peake, Headmaster of St George’s College, said that he was absolutely delighted at the performance of the College’s GCSE students:
