St George's College Chamber Choir opens Music by the Bridge series 2018

The St George's College Chamber Choir has started the 2018 academic year by hitting all the right notes, after being the first choir to be invited to participate in the Music by the Bridge series at St Mary's Church in Putney.

Not only were they invited to perform at the music series, they were also asked to open this year's cycle of concerts with a performance on Sunday 30 September.

After a day spent work-shopping and exploring the history of the beautiful venue in Putney - famous for associations with Thomas Cromwell and Oliver Cromwell, not to mention the Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race - the choir sang a special programme of music to illustrate the history of the church, which received very positive reviews from those in attendance.

The students were well-rewarded afterwards, as they were treated to a delicious meal in Putney Pantry, and they are now all looking forward to their next London performance in March 2019.
