Smashing success for U11A cricket team

The boys' U11A cricket team at St George's Junior School has enjoyed a strong start to the cricket season, especially in the Geoff Richards 8-a-side Cup competition.

Captained by Ben G, the boys have won their first two games of the competition. First up, the boys put in a superb performance to beat Pyrford School 33-15, before outclassing West Byfleet School 50-24 in a thoroughly enjoyable game. Both matches showcased the real team effort amongst the boys.

The competition is run in a pairs format, with each pair batting for just two overs. Everyone in the team bowls and everyone bats. When a wicket is lost, the team loses 5 runs.

As well as the fine form shown in school games so far this season, captain Ben has also been called up to the Surrey U11 Squad to face Kent in June. Ben is an opening bowler and is showing great promise. Congratulations and good luck to Ben from everyone at St George's.
