Junior School learn about Judaism

The children in Years 1, 3 and 6 had an eye-opening start to the new term as they learnt all about Judaism as part of their studies into a different major world faith.

The purpose of these sessions is to ensure that the children are aware of other faiths and are able to learn about them so that they can grow in their understanding and respect.

On the 19 and 20 September, Judaism for Schools visited the Junior School to provide some hands-on experience for the children. As well as learning all about Judaism, the pupils were lucky enough to handle, and model, a wide variety of authentic Jewish artefacts and discover their meaning. They even had a go at writing their own names in Hebrew.

It was a fantastic experience for the children and really stimulated their curiosity in this interesting faith.
