Fourth Years cook up a treat to celebrate British Food Fortnight

British Food Fortnight is the biggest national celebration of the diverse and delicious range of food that Britain produces.

To showcase this event, which takes place between 22 September – 7 October, the Fourth Year GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition students produced a variety of dishes that celebrate everything British.

Dishes cooked this time round included: Scotch Eggs, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Victoria Sandwich Cake, Cornish Pasties, Shepherd’s Pie, Shortbread, Lancashire Hotpot, Scones with Jam and Clotted Cream, Butterfly Cakes and Chicken Pie.

The aim was to cook a dish that was traditional to Britain and that used local ingredients. The students did extremely well and produced an eye catching display of British dishes.
