Specialist Learning Support Assistant
Hours: 20.00 hours per week to be worked flexibly and in agreement with the Academic Support Specialist Teacher.
Term Time Only - including INSET days and occasional training days - 36 weeks per year.
Contract: One Year Fixed Term Contract
We are seeking a Specialist Learning Support Assistant (Visual Impairment) to provide a range of dedicated interventions to support the learning of a visually impaired student from September 2020. This will facilitate equality of access to high quality learning opportunities and ensure full access, participation and improved learning outcomes for the student.
The successful candidate will be a highly committed, creative and energetic practitioner who will be able to work with the identified student in order to help overcome barriers to learning as a result of their visual impairment. They will possess excellent communication skills with teachers, parents and business staff and build an effective working relationship with the student.
The Specialist Learning Support Assistant will ensure that teaching materials and resources are adapted and/or enlarged and that a range of other strategies are in place to ensure full access for the student to the National Curriculum and classroom activities.
