Year 6 debates topical Geography issues

Year 6 pupils at St George's Junior School, Weybridge took part in an active, hands on Geography workshop on rivers yesterday (9 March) led by Freshwater Theatre.

The pupils became the cast and crew of a fictional TV show called ‘Riverwatch’ and used their geographical knowledge to debate topical issues and develop their understanding of the subject. The boys and girls discovered how their imaginations are a powerful tool to help them understand river processes and different scenarios within human geography. It was a worthwhile and informative workshop to extend the pupils thinking skills and engage the children in key geographical issues.

The children certainly enjoyed being TV stars for a day as well!
