Year 4 children visit Worth Abbey for Good Shepherd Celebration

On Wednesday 21 June, eight children from Year 4 had the honour of visiting Worth Abbey for a very special celebration.

Every year the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton invites children from all of its schools to gather together for the Good Shepherd Celebration. Bishop Richard leads the celebration and this year the theme was 'Seeking to build a better world.'

Children from all around the Diocese joined together to listen to readings and to sing and dance as they learned about the importance of serving others and spreading God’s love around the world. The girls and boys learned about Pope Francis’ new Beatitudes and how important it is to think about others.

The morning finished with all the schools gathering together for a big picnic in the sun which was very much enjoyed by everyone. The children attending learned some catchy new songs complete with actions that they are keen to share with the rest of the school, as well as learning how to say hello and thank you in Swahili!
