Upper Years start term on a positive note with a wonderful set of music exam results

Upper Years pupils at St George's Junior School started the new term on a very positive note last Friday (8 September) at assembly, as many of the students celebrated brilliant ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) results.

32 pupils took exams this year, with another 3 pupils taking their Prep test, which has no formal score. Of the 32 pupils who sat ABRSM exams, there were 2 Passes, 14 Merits and 16 Distinctions. Of these distinctions, 5 pupils scored over 140 out of 150 marks, which is extremely rare and a very high score.

These pupils were:

Sonia - piano - Grade 1 = 141 (Former Year 6 pupil)

Lucy - flute - Grade 1 = 140

Ciara - cello - Grade 1 = 144

Chloe - singing - Grade 1 = 145

Sinead - cello - Grade 3 = 141

The pupils were presented with their certificates by Headmaster, Mr Antony Hudson, and clapped and cheered on by their classmates.

Everyone at St George's would like to wish all of the pupils that sat exams a huge congratulations.
