Upper Sixth students welcome primary school children to celebrate Mass

Yesterday morning (23 March), 300 primary school children from St George’s Junior School, Holy Family, St Charles Borromeo and St Anne’s School all came together with their Sixth Form mentors for Mass at St George's College Chapel.

For the past two terms, Upper Sixth students from St George's College, Weybridge have been going out to each of the local schools and helping to teach primary school pupils, as well as help them prepare some artwork and drawings for this Mass.

The Mass affirmed the relationships that had been formed and provided an opportunity for the children to display their work. Every school contributed something very special to the Mass and particular thanks go to: Holy Family and St Charles Borremeo for leading the music; St George's Junior School for the readings and leading a rousing rendition of ‘Rise and Shine’ at the end; Holy Family for the offertory precession and for accompanying Fr Martin into the Chapel during the opening hymn; and the children of St Anne’s School for singing so beautifully.

Once Mass was celebrated, all of the school children went to the Orchard Hall with their Sixth Form mentors for some delicious treats.
