Under 11 girls' rounders team triumphant at Hawthorns Tournament

There was more rounders success for the girls at St George's Junior School over the weekend (Saturday 10 June), as the Under 11 girls' rounders team won the Hawthorns Rounders Tournament.

14 schools entered the tournament, making it one of the most competitive tournaments yet. The girls batted and fielded with outstanding commitment and consistency throughout the day and the accuracy and power of the girls was phenomenal, with their fantastic skills being commented on by opposition teachers.

The results:

Game 1 - Won 5½ - 2½ v Halstead School

Game 2 - Won 7½ - 2 v Micklefield School

Game 3: Lost 3 - 5 v Hazelwood School

Game 4: Won 10 - 4 v Hawthorns School

Game 5: Won 7½ - 4 v Royal Russell

Game 6: Won 5 - 1½ v St Teresa’s School

Qualified as runner-up in our Group

Game 7: Semi-final v Reigate St Mary’s: Won 4 - 2½

Game 8: Final v St Michael’s: Won 2½ - 1½
