The votes are in as Nursery children hold Mr Men election

Last week on Thursday 8 June, as citizens of the UK took to the polling stations to vote in the General Election, Nursery children from St George’s Junior School held a very important election of their own. A Mr Men and Little Miss election!

The candidates running for office were Mr Strong, Mr Tickle, and Little Miss Sunshine.

The children spent the week listening to various Mr Men and Little Miss stories, learning about the characters, creating displays and enjoying many other Mr Men themed activities.

Once the children had listened to all the stories they then had the opportunity to vote for their favourite character over the course of the week and put their votes in a ballot box.

Then, on Monday 12 June, three of the children dressed up as Mr Tickle, Mr Strong and Little Miss Sunshine as the votes were all counted up and the results revealed.

Headmaster Antony Hudson was on hand to announce the winner and after a long pause and a drum roll from the girls and boys, the winner was…. Little Miss Sunshine!
