Tennis players finish the year on a high at Independent Schools' Tennis Championships

At the beginning of July, tennis players from St George's College competed in the Independent Schools' Tennis Championships and ended the year on a high.

From Saturday 1 - Tuesday 4 July, St George's had boys and girls competing from Under 19, Under 15 and Under 13 age groups.

All of the players were keen to end the year on a high and put in their best performances of the season.

In the Under 13 boys category, St George's had two teams who both made it through to the semi-finals. This meant the First years would take on the Second Years! In a close fought match, played in excellent spirits, the Second Years won the match and progressed to the final. Unfortunately they lost out in the final and finished as runners up. It was still an excellent result for the boys, who played brilliantly throughout the tournament.

There was also two teams competing in the Under 13 girls' category, with both teams performing admirably to make it to the last 8 round.

The Senior boys and girls teams both faced difficult opposition throughout the tournament, but still put in some battling displays to make it to the last 16 stage.

Well done to all the tennis players that took part in such a successful day for the College and for playing so well this season.
