St George's triumphs at District Cross Country competition

On Saturday 18 March, St George's Junior School competed in the Elmbridge and Runneymede District Cross Country competition for the first time.

There was a total of 547 children taking part across the morning, with 85-95 children per race competing. It was a wonderful event for all and the Junior School pupils performed brilliantly.

There was individual success for one of our boys, who superbly won the Under 9 ERPSSA District Cross country, coming 1st out of 91 Year 4 boys.

Then in the team competitions it was a clean sweep for St George's. First up, with twelve teams competing fiercely, the Under 11 girls became District Cross Country team champions.

Then, with the girls' success already secured, the Under 11 boys went out and became District Cross Country team champions as well, beating competition from nine other teams in a remarkable achievement.

Congratulations to all of the children who worked so hard to become champions.
