Nursery children delight at Elmer Day

Boys and girls from the Nursery at St George’s Junior School, Weybridge celebrated Elmer Day today, Friday 27 May, for the very first time.

Hundreds of Elmer Day events have been taking place up and down the country to coincide with Andersen Press’ launch of the inaugural Elmer Day at Hay Festival on Saturday 28 May. The events are designed to celebrate popular pre-school character, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.

The Junior School decided to take part in this celebration as Elmer is one of the Nursery children’s favourite characters.

At the event, the children had lots of fun making their very own Elmer hats, they went on an Elmer hunt in the Library Garden, they had Elmer stories read to them, and they even had a special visit from Elmer and Wilbur.
