Junior School children swim, bike and run at local triathlon

Girls and boys from St George's Junior School got up early on Sunday 18 June to take part in the 'INTOTRI' Triathlon Event which took place at the Excel Leisure Centre in Walton.

'INTOTRI' is a charity that removes social and financial barriers from grassroots sports in the UK. The charity creates a strong network that empowers people of all ages and abilities to challenge themselves and take up regular exercise.

So with this new initiative in full swing, a free triathlon was set up with nearly 150 local children taking part. 50 of these local children came from St George's Junior School to meet at 6am, ready to swim, bike and run.

All of the children can be hugely proud of their efforts throughout the day. It was amazing to see every competitor give their absolute best and also be so supportive of one another.

Georgian spirit really was on show from all of our pupils.
