Bishop Richard warmly welcomed at St George’s Junior School

Pupils and staff at St George’s Junior School in Weybridge warmly welcomed the Rt. Rev. Richard Moth, Bishop of Arundel & Brighton, when he made a Pastoral Visit to the School today (24 April 2017), the day after St George’s Day.

Bishop Richard celebrated Mass in the School Chapel and then took part in two special school assemblies held for younger pupils, led by the Junior School Headmaster, Mr Antony Hudson, in the School’s new building for the Lower Years - ‘The Ark’.

Bishop Richard met and spoke with many of the girls and boys, ending his visit by having lunch with four members of the RE & Spiritual Committee ( ‘RESPeCT ) and Mrs Rachel Owens, the Headmistress of the College.

Speaking of the special visit, Mr Hudson said:

“It was wonderful that Bishop Richard could spend the whole morning with us to celebrate our Feast Day. He spoke of the hope that faith in Jesus gives us and that, like St George, we must try to find space in our busy lives to put God at the centre of everything that we do.”
