Another ‘A-Star-studded’ set of GCSE results for students at St George’s College, Weybridge
We are delighted to announce that students at St George’s College, Weybridge are celebrating an impressive set of GCSE results this year (August 2016).
A total of 38 students achieved straight A*-A Grades, including 12 with at least 10A*s.
The most notable performances are the following: Adam Millard and Maddy Patterson each achieving 12 A* grades, Aimee Bates, Alex Mason, Alice Boon, Ella Harvey, Rory Parkinson, Isabella Rodrigues-Mendes, Ellie Shahbo and JJ Spunner – all gaining at least 11A*s and George Lanigan and Charlotte Woodford achieving 10A*s each.
Alex Mason, George Lanigan and Rory Parkinson also gained a certificate in the DELF French examination. Over the entire year group, 40.3% of grades were A* - an increase of 8% from last year.
All Year 10 pupils took Religious Studies a year early, with 66% achieving A*-A grades. The whole year group also sat the IGCSE English Language, a year early, with 63% gaining A*-A grades.
Of the 14 pupils who took French a year early, 13 achieved A*. In addition to this, four students sat GCSEs in other languages, with A*s in Chinese, Greek and Turkish and an A in Spanish.
Six of our Year 9 students took some modern languages early: Russian, Spanish and Chinese GCSEs, with eight A*s and 1 A achieved in total.
