A bumper special Georgians of the Week
As we approach the end of term, students at St George's College have been very busy showcasing numerous talents and as a result we have a bumper crop of Georgians of the Week (8 December)!
To start with, we congratulate our two Lower Sixth students who were a credit to the School as they competed at the Schools’ Mace Debating competition.
Next up, one of our Fourth Year students volunteered to procure all the items for the 4NDF Tutor Group Charity Christmas Hamper (the class gave her money to do so), showcasing her Georgian Spirit.
Meanwhile, the Under 16 girls' indoor hockey team were announced as Georgians of the week after beating Wellington 4-0 in the South of England Indoor Hockey Finals. A near perfect performance, according to Mr Shingles. Well done girls!
And finally, some talented linguists were recognised after some brilliant performances in competitions this week: Jemima Carter was chosen as one of only 5 winners from 250 entries at the German Embassy Career Fair quiz and the 'St George's Six' linguists beat off the competition to win the European Business Challenge at Reed’s School.
As always, the students joined the Headmistress and their teachers in the Orchard Hall for a delicious doughnut and a hearty hot chocolate.
Well done to all of you deserved winners this week!8 December 2017
