Environment

The Nursery and Reception classrooms are situated securely within the fifty acre grounds of St George’s Junior School.

Children benefit from a unique range of facilities and learning materials - with abundant access to books, art materials, sports equipment, computers/laptops, interactive boards, a cooking room and much more.

Both Nursery and Reception utilise the School’s private woodland area on a weekly basis, which offers children a unique stimulating learning experience. The children make dens, create mud pies, open up a 'bug hotel' and make clay faces. This allows the children to be free and to take risks.

There is good contact between Nursery and Reception, with the two attending a joint assembly on a weekly basis, both playing together in the outdoor learning area, as well as celebrating Harvest Festival and sports day together.

On top of this, there is the 'Fine Dining Project', where a selection of Reception pupils sit with the Nursery children once a week, to promote healthy eating and good table manners.
